Overtourism has become the Voldemort of tourism – the one who must not be named. I agued (virtually) at the #CityDNA event yesterday that at a strategic, planning level as we seek sustainable tourism development, we should not be using the phrase #Overtourism and pointing the figure at tourists!!
It was great conference and innovative structure, including live polls. Interesting to see a nearly 50/50 split on the use of the phrase overtourism from attendees. You can see the follow / data here.
I wonder the result might be in a years time, if the poll was run again!
