Dr Tavis Potts and Dr Piotr Niewiadomski from the University of Aberdeen were successful in an application to the British Council Researcher Links Workshop Grants: Peru. The project established collaboration with two Peruvian institutions, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences; Universidad Cientifica Del Sur (UCSUR) and the Department for Applied Research in Geography, Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
I was invited t oattend the 1 week workshop in March 2016, toexplore the advances and opportunities for the implementation of the Green Economy in Peru. The ‘Advancing Green Growth in Peru’ workshop was a great success, gathering the ideas of 30 early career researchers on the challenges and opportunities for green growth in three Peruvian economic sectors – tourism, transport and the blue economy.
